Q. Why have you named the site Pokapic ?

A. The site obtained its name from an abbreviation of Poke-a-Picture, the idea being that all the rating of the photos is done by users poking their favourite photo that's being displayed at the time.

Q. What is the aim of the site ?

A. The aim of the site is to allow anyone on the Internet the ability to share their favourite photos, images and scenes and allow them to be submitted to a category. They are then shown with similar photos from the same category and a visitor clicks the one they prefer from the two images displayed. The server then calculates scores for the photos depending of how often they are clicked from the numbers of times they've been shown, and then can rank them in order.

Q. I just want to upload a link of a photo, why can't I?

A. From my point of view this would be beneficial too since I wouldn't have to waste web space hosting many image files. The trouble is that often images expire or move form the locations they were originally uploaded and this would leave the web site looking like it was created by a monkey, which it wasn't I promise.

Q. So what are you if you're not a monkey?

A. I'm a student, who liked the idea of the site and hence created it, but who doesn't have time to perfect it. I do however hope you find it enjoyable. I also own a couple of other websites, mostly mobile phone related - Mobile Unlock - Mobile Codez - Blonde or Brunette?

Q. I still think you are a monkey...

A. One day maybe I'll upload a photo and prove I'm not, but for now you'll have to take my word for it.
